The Ultimate eCommerce - Content is king

Content is what?!!!??! The king?

Back in January 1996, Bill Gates wrote an essay titled “Content is King”, which was published on the Microsoft website. He stated, “Content is where I expect much of the real money will be made on the Internet, just as it was in broadcasting...”

Needless to say, he was correct in his predictions.

Adding intriguing and engaging (even useful) content is important, because it can be a powerful tool to market a brand and catapult the notoriety of your eCommerce activities.

Here are some content items to include on separate pages in your eCommerce site:

Content - Blog and Media Pages

  1. Product reviews and showcases

  2. Interviews with people who have used your products

  3. Blogs of recent events and news

  4. Tutorials such as How to ...

  5. Radio, webcast or podcast postings

  6. Video testimonials

7. Social sharing options for your blog posts

  8. Customers' or followers' comments and questions

  9. Lists that relate to your products

  10. Educational pages

  11. Company events

  12. Insider company information to connect with your customers

  13. Areas for people to submit their own content for competitions and drawings

  14. An external resources page -- Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.

  15. Articles about the state of your industry

Lastly, I know what you're thinking... I too agree the design of Moschino menswear is seriously tacky!
